Soul Deep Recordings and Payback are excited to bring in the new year with the immaculate Def Touch EP.  The EP features 4 dancefloor gems from one of the hottest producers at the moment, Payback.  Everything this man is touching at them moment turns into Liquid gold, and this new EP is further proof of that fact.  The Tamoworth, U.K., resident kicks off his new EP with the soulful number entitled, “Def Touch.”  The song opens with soft pads, chiming rhodes keys, backed by some light ticking drums that help set the tone for what’s about to occur.  When the drop hits, the snapping drums and the booming sub bassline are added to the atmospheric backdrop and take the track to new heights.  The second track, “Drop the Funk,” features groovy piano keys, uplifting female vocals, snappy drums, and a funky bassline that helps create an intoxicating feeling for the listeners.  “Vertigo,” is up next and it is highlighted by its Rhodes keys, Amen sounding drum loop, bouncy bassline, and gritty mid bass stabs.  For the last tune of the EP, Payback teams up with Soul Deep head honcho, Scott Allen, for the masterpiece entitled, “Midnight Jammin’.”  The tune has the perfect blend of upbeat dance floor rhythms, atmospheric textures, smooth efx, and groovy stabs that make the track absolute bliss.  Payback has been a steady contributor to Soul Deep over the years, and any fan of his will surely love this EP.  If this is what Payback has in store for us in 2019, then bring on the new year!!
